Elizabeth and John joined the church together in 1851. She was left with 9 children in February, 1865 when John set out for America. He sent for her within a few months and she arrived in the summer, 1865
Elizabeth married John Mason Burnside, son of William Burnside and Elizabeth Pimperton, on 15 Feb 1849 in Bathgate, Linlithgow, Scotland. (John Mason Burnside was born on 23 Nov 1826 in Wilsontown, Lanarkshire, Scotland, died on 24 Jan 1885 in Birch Creek, Fairview, Sanpete, Utah and was buried on 25 Jan 1885 in Mount Pleasant, Sanpete, Utah.)
