Visited Bill Grey on 16 February 1991. He and his wife were fit and well,
although Alice is suffering from Diebetes. They were pleased to see Michael
Grey, his wife Jean and myself.
Bill told us about his life. He and Alice celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary in 1985, and said that the best job he had, had was driving the
buses for Godalming, bus company. He had briefly tried to run his father's
shop when he died but had found the work too hard. He unfortunately sold it but
with the money had been able to buy their family home, in Binscombe for 1.500
pounds. Later he was to sell it for over 60,000 pounds which had enabled him to
buy a retirement home for him and Alice.
