Glasgow in 1860 when his sister Bessie had baby Magaret. It is said that
Nathaniel was disowned by his family when he joined church in 1862 and later
came to America, yet Cuthbert Douse, his nephew, came to visit him in 1883.
Birth information was found on a registration form that his sister, Sarah, sent from Scotland--copies in posession of S. Crookston, L. Brown and others also in his father's pocket book; Nathaniel was bound as an apprentice on 18 Jun 1852, Newcastle Upon Tyne for seven years; Age 13 in 1851 Census of All Saints Parish of Newcastle-Upon Tyne.
